The exhibition brings two distinct artistic approaches into resonance: Babi Brüller’s figurative painting, where past and present imagery converge, and Benedikt Gahl’s abstraction, which increasingly withdraws from corporeal presence. Brüller’s figures—oscillating between puppet and icon—seem caught in an unstable temporality, while Gahl’s work extends the logic of the political banner, a medium of mobilisation and ideology. One image condenses, the other disperses. Their encounter in the space unsettles fixed meanings, revealing how perception itself shapes the work and questioning whether art, beyond the personal, can inscribe a shared reality.
