The exhibition brings together various works from Charmaine Poh’s body of work, including pieces from the exhibition ‘Make a travel deep of you inside, and don’t forget me to take’, which was on display at the PalaisPopulaire in 2025 and will be shown at the MUDEC in Milan in September 2026 as part of the ‘Deutsche Bank Artist of the Year’ award. From videos and photographs to objects, ‘Devotion/Disappearance’ explores how marginalised female figures have navigated ambiguity whilst simultaneously asserting their existence. The protagonists cannot be easily categorised; they navigate the realms of myth, history and the digital, whilst remaining firmly rooted in the diverse contexts of Singapore and its regional diaspora.
