Galerie Françoise Heitsch presents a duo show with visual artists Manuela Gernedel and Paulina Nolte. With a nod to the gallery’s architecture, they will descend into the depths of subterranean realms, exploring inner and outer realities. Gernedel mainly works in drawing and sculpture, writes lyrics and performs as a vocalist in her band Manuela. Intuitive in nature, Nolte’s work consists of drawings, sculptures, costumes and music, that are often linked together to create a final performative piece.

Manuela Gernedel ( *1982 in Bad Ischl , Austria ) studied Painting at the Glasgow School of Art ( BA hons ), the Academy of Fine Arts Munich and Chelsea college of Art and Design London, (MA fine art). She lives and works in Bad Endorf. Recent exhibitions included Alice at select gallery, Berlin; snakes at Piper Keys, London; tomorrow, tomorrow and tomorrow again at Stiftung Binz Zürich; Nature at Charim Gallery Vienna and CCCO at Rodeo Gallery London.

Paulina Nolte (*1992 in Munich) studied at the Academy of Fine Art in Munich with Klaus vom Bruch. Her last solo show Persimone at Kunstpavillon in Munich was based on a soundpiece of hers, initially streamed by PlusX on Radio Cashmere in Berlin and then released on New York Tape label Decontrol. Her work has been shown at Andrew Reed Gallery, Miami, Galerie Françoise Heitsch, at Kunstmuseum Bochum and with Ruine München at Lenbachhaus. In 2024 she was invited to perform at SAA in Brooklyn, NY. She also performs in the band What Are People For? who have toured internationally the last two years.
