Photography in Munich II – Symposium on Perspectives and Networking in Photography
The “Photography in Munich” format is entering its second round. After the first part in November 2024 focussed on the collections of public museums and foundations as well as teaching and research institutions, this event looks at other key players in the photographic field in Munich. In addition to public institutions, private collectors as well as specialised galleries and auction houses will also contribute their perspectives and present their approach to photography. The aim is to visualise the city’s photographic network in its current density and dynamics – both in terms of institutional structures and formative market-oriented practices. The symposium invites participants to enter into dialogue about the diverse forms of collecting, researching, exhibiting, mediating and distributing photography and to forge new connections within Munich’s photography scene.
