From 8 to 18 May 2025, Kyle Keese and Leander Leutzendorff unfold a project that blurs the lines between performance, cinema, and the soft architectures of social space. It begins at pip, a project space reimagined as a provisional film office: casting calls, script readings, and the porous comings and goings of a public drawn into rehearsal. Then, on 10 and 11 May, the scene shifts to the Bayerischer Hof, where the artists stage a 24-hour live shoot. Two estranged cousins await the reading of their great-aunt’s will, recently deceased, famously Bavarian. The premise is fiction; the process is not. Guests become crew: operating cameras, styling props, touching up lipstick, holding the script. The hotel suite becomes a living set, suspended somewhere between melodrama and manual labour. Back at pip, Keese and Leutzendorff transpose stills from the shoot into painted posters: artefacts not of documentation, but of distillation, gestures held in pigment, time thickened into image.
