The Lothringer 13 Halle invites you to a dialogical exploration of text, voice, and time, marking the release of Georgi Gospodinov’s new novel Der Gärtner und der Todh.
In his characteristically multi-layered style, Gospodinov interweaves personal, historical, and philosophical narratives into a sensitive literary tapestry about loss, memory, and the power of language.
Austrian actor Max Meyer (Residenztheater, Munich) will present excerpts from Der Gärtner und der Tod and Zeitzuflucht in a staged reading.
Following the reading, Gospodinov will engage in a conversation with Kalas Liebfried, discussing his literary strategies, the political dimensions of remembrance, as well as anarchism, social crises, and the loss of future.
The event takes place in the context of the project Anarchic Animism, which includes Gospodinov’s video work Future Cancelled (2018). The evening also marks the beginning of the new event series DOXA, dedicated to text-based practices and poetic voices.
