Last year, the professional association announced the “Förderpreis des BBK München und Oberbayern” for the first time in a three-stage competition. From over 100 digitally submitted documents, the exhibition committee initially selected 14 applicants who presented their works in the preselection exhibition “Tacker” in the GALERIE DER KÜNSTLER*INNEN in July 2024. In a second jury meeting within the “Tacker” exhibition, the three finalists Stefan Holzmair, Frida Kato and Kristina Schmidt were nominated from the 14 positions to be presented in the spacious rooms of the gallery together, but curated as individual exhibitions, each with a production and fee budget of € 1,800. The exhibition commission will then select the winner in a third jury meeting on site and award them with prize money currently amounting to € 2,500 from association funds at the finissage on 6 July 2025.
