From Language is a lecture by artist Wisrah C. V. da R. Celestino that delves into their practice with particular attention to the linguistics of the artist’s works. The invitation of Wisrah C. V. da R. Celestino is the starting point for a series of talks, workshops and discussions under the title “Das Politische der Kunst | The Political of Art”. This series is a collaboration between Tanja Widmann and the Class for New Genres at the Academy of Fine Arts Munich with Franziska Sophie Wildförster.
Wisrah C. V. da R. Celestino (Brazil, 1989) lives and works in Berlin, Germany. Through score, sculpture, text, photography, sound, and video, the artist addresses the remaining structures of the transatlantic colonial project, focusing on institutional critique, language, and objecthood.
