Lecture at the TU Munich by Prof. Dr. Sonja Dümpelmann Prof. Dr. Sonja Dümpelmann (LMU Rachel Carson Center for Environment and Society).
The principle of sustainability originates from the practice of forestry in past centuries. Paradoxically, its application has often led to forest monocultures that are considered unsustainable both ecologically and socially. However, forward-looking planning and future thinking can also open up opportunities for a socially just and ecologically, culturally and economically sustainable environment. What can we learn from the past for the future treatment of trees and urban nature?
