In ancient Greece, love as a principle was conceptualised in a universal sense with the terms agape, philia and eros, with a view to a general togetherness in the world. This stands in contrast to a world of separation and division, exclusion and repression. Here, co-operation and synergy take precedence over competition and distinction. A very general human affection between individuals or towards the “world” as a whole. The belief in a commonality, a togetherness corresponds to a broad concept of love.
