This exhibition presents works by the artists Julia Retz and Andrés Aizicovich, created during their residency at Ebenböckhaus, Munich. It explores the interplay of memory, the body, and tradition through sculpture, video, and performance, examining the weight of history, tradition, and architecture.
Julia Retz transforms architectural imagery into malleable latex objects, evoking the qualities of skin and structure. Her work reflects how buildings, as vessels of history, bear the weight of power structures, exposing both the fragility and strength of monumentality.
Andrés Aizicovich contributes a hybrid sculpture combining furniture, sound, and performance. His wind instrument, activated by three performers, highlights themes of transmission, cooperation, and shared effort in creating harmony under strain.
