As part of the exhibition Ressource, Research, Reset – Architectural Transformation of Sacred Spaces by the Chair of Design at TUM, the third talk in the series will take place with Prof Dr Albert Kirchengast. The focus is on research.

Prof. Dr. Albert Kirchengast (*1980) studied architecture at Graz University of Technology and completed his doctorate on Ludwig Mies van der Rohe at ETH Zurich. He has worked at several universities, including ETH Zurich, TU Vienna and the Kunsthistorisches Institut Florenz, Max Planck Institute. Since 2023, he has been a junior professor of architectural theory specialising in building in existing buildings at BTU Cottbus-Senftenberg.

The exhibition examines the future of sacred spaces and presents utilisation concepts for the preservation of these places. The discussion will focus on their architectural and cultural substance as well as research into their historical and structural aspects.
