“Soy Energía” at Haus der Kunst is Sandra Vásquez de la Horra’s first institutional retrospective exhibition in Europe and is dedicated to her experimental practice. Jana Baumann, the curator of the exhibition, will guide visitors through the exhibition in conversation with Raphael Fonseca, curator of the artist’s retrospective exhibition in the USA and Latin America, “The Awake Volcanoes”. The Chilean artist combines transnational and indigenous perspectives in her multidisciplinary artistic practice. Her oeuvre, which consists primarily of drawings and paintings, but also includes films and performances, encompasses complex events, stories, rituals, and beliefs rooted in both her upbringing in Chile and her many years living in Germany.
