The exhibition ‘Fred Sandback – Negative Space’ at the Metropol Kunstraum is dedicated to a specific aspect of the multifaceted body of work by the artist Fred Sandback. Known for his minimalist spatial drawings made from coloured acrylic threads, Sandback explored the perception of space, line and volume in a unique way. In the reliefs and prints on display, Sandback approaches the subtle relationships between surface, space and perception ‘ex negativo’ using entirely different means.
