nouveaux deuxdeux is pleased to invite the artist Arang Choi for a solo show in collaboration with gallery Elektrohalle Rhomberg. Arang Choi (1992 born in Seoul, Korea) finds her inspiration for her paintings in documentaries about nature, landscape and animals paired with her own observations, which the artist then processes directly into oil paintings, thus creating her own fantastic universe. At Arang Choi’s side is the alter ego she has named Emulb, a fluid creature whose names means “flower” in reversed German. A hybrid form somewhere between animal, human, fantasy, botanical creation, landscape and nature, which is constantly evolving and serves the artist as a mediator to make her imagination visible. As an infinite dream her artistic practice is a crossroad between mystical fiction and reality.
