Based on a new Western sensibility in which mind and body are understood as commodities in need of care, the work examines what contemporary forms of this “care” might look like and to what extent the placebo effect functions as an aesthetic principle.
At the center are fragments of two objects: dental lamps and Orthomol Immun drink ampoules. Photography and plaster form the material framework: while photography visually fixes reality, plaster captures its form. Their combination creates a tension between closeness and distance, intimacy and alienation; the plaster organically connects the elements.
This unfolds a unique, silent world for visitors, which exists in an intimate and surreal way alongside the noisy everyday life.
