Georg Haberler introduces a collection of new mixed-media pieces that craft worlds in a playful, awkward manner through striking compositions, appearing as if they might collapse, yet always retaining their balance. Within Haberler’s distinctive imagery, animals, objects, and architectural elements interact, embroidered with various coloured threads on unprimed canvas. Haberler was born in Graz in 1985 and currently lives and works in Vienna. His work has been showcased in group and solo exhibitions throughout Europe, including Austria, Germany, Italy, France, Belgium, and Denmark. He has received numerous grants, such as the Promotion Prize of the Province of Styria for Contemporary Fine Art in 2021. From April through June 2024, Haberler took part in the residency program at the Foundation for Contemporary Art – Ghana.
