Gerold Miller is a conceptual sculptor and object artist; he lives in Berlin, exhibits worldwide and has also been represented by the Walter Storms Gallery for almost 10 years.
His minimalist wall-mounted objects and freestanding sculptures are formed from stainless steel or aluminium, elaborately finished with multi-layered coatings. Miller’s visual motifs draw on the traditions of Suprematism, Colour Field Painting and Hard-Edge painting, and, through their geometric precision, arrive at new formal and chromatic solutions. Situated between painting, relief and sculpture, the works occupy that field of tension which has characterised Miller’s oeuvre for decades and explores the relationships between form, surface, light and space.
Miller is presenting three recent groups of works in the three gallery halls at Walter Storms. Brand new: mirror-polished stainless steel reliefs. All the works on display were conceived and designed specifically for the Munich venue.
