Paulina Caspari is pleased to announce the exhibtion ‘I Would Not Think To Touch The Sky With Two Arms’, curated with Andrew Dubow.
This exhibition includes 15 contemporary artists from around the world working in a myriad of styles and themes. Their work is presented in dialogue with a historical painting on display by Franz von Stuck from 1902, who is regarded as one of the most important representatives of Art Nouveau, and a profound exponent of Symbolism. Franz von Stuck spent the majority of his life and artistic career in Munich. During ‘Various Others’, almost 100 years after Stuck’s death, we are particularly pleased to present this group of partly established and emerging artists in the gallery in Munich. In the context of the exhibition these artists focus on diverse themes and pose questions that are still relevant today.
The historical painting is the centerpiece of the exhibition and acts as the thread connecting each artist’s work, leading the central artistic themes into the present.
