KATE WERBLE GALLERY from New York has been invited. She presents Christopher Chiappa and showing the site-specific installation BLACK PLASTIC TRASH BAG, 2010-2015. The entire space wrapped in black plastic explores the information inherent in a physical gallery. A black trash bag would be a startling and dark image if it were hung alone on a white wall, but by flooding the gallery with black plastic, the bag becomes contemplative and nearly invisible; a tree hidden in the forest.
Christopher Chiappa (* 1970, West Chester, PA) currently lives and works in Long Island City, NY. Rhode Island School of Design, Providence, Middlebury College, Middlebury.
