Each work of the VAGUE Beauty Issue Series presents a cover story of the beauty issue of the fictional Vague magazine in a specific country. Touching on issues of gender identity and (in)equality, the works examine the position of women in contemporary society, exploring the various stereotypes of female beauty standards around the world and commenting on society’s expectations of women and the burdensome, often unrealistic and almost unattainable stereotypes they must live up to.
