Outstanding! These are fifteen graduates of the Munich Academy of Fine Arts who graduated in 2024 and have received prizes and funding from various institutions. The popular group show known as the Debutante Exhibition is presented by the Academy of Fine Arts. We are delighted to be able to host it this year. One step beyond provides a rousing insight into current artistic forms of expression, concepts and ideas. As a foundation at the interface of natural science and art, we are particularly pleased to see how many positions deal with natural phenomena and scientific contexts – from geophysics to ornithology and astronomy. Provocative works that challenge us to engage with recent history are combined with ecstatic, psychedelic colour spaces that celebrate human resilience after catastrophe and devastation in the footsteps of Arthur Rimbaud.
We will be hearing more from these artists …
