Resource, Research, Reset examines the transformation of sacred spaces and presents innovative architectural concepts for their future use. In collaboration with the Chair of Design at TUM, designs were created for the redesign of St. Johannes in Ingolstadt and St. Mauritius in Munich. The students developed concepts that respect the existing building fabric and integrate new utilisation options such as communal living. Resource stands for the architectural potential of the churches, Research for the exploration of historical and structural aspects and Reset for new perspectives. The exhibition shows models, photographs and drawings of the projects and continues the debate about church spaces as social places. It ties in with the Re* series on sustainability in the construction sector and is supported by the Archdiocese of Munich and Freising and the Evangelical Lutheran Church in Bavaria.
