Kunstverein München presents “Romeo’s eyes” the first institutional exhibition of Simon Lässig and Vera Lutz. The duo show brings together newly conceived filmic, photographic, and installative works by the artists, which explore the politics of seeing and showing. In this way, the exhibition also serves as framework for the ongoing dialogical practice between the two artists, which began in Munich in 2015. While Lutz’s works are often created in correspondence with spatial structures, taking up questions of self-referentiality and focusing on the conditions of systems of representation, Lässig negotiates mimetic processes and conditioned forms of seeing with reference to historical film material.
