The exhibition brings together various works across Charmaine Poh’s practice, including works from the exhibition Make a travel deep of you inside, and don’t forget me to take exhibited at PalaisPopulaire in 2025 and upcoming at MUDEC Milan in September 2026, as part of the Deutsche Bank Artist of the Year prize. Ranging from videos and photographs to objects, “Devotion/Disappearance” delves into the way marginalised femme figures have navigated opacity while asserting their existence. The protagonists resist easy categorisation, spanning the mythic, historical and the digital, while rooting themselves in the rich contexts of Singapore and its regional diaspora.
