The work of Kitty Kraus departs from reduced forms and precise arrangements. Working with glass, mirrors, light, ice, or ink, she creates sculptures and installations in which these forms are set in motion and control gradually gives way to entropy. For her exhibition at Kunstverein München, she develops a new installation that extends her longstanding engagement with light and spatial perception. Conceived in direct response to the architecture of the building, the work extends across the Kunstverein through three elementary principles: illumination, reflection, and shadow.
