They work on designing products based on mycelium, incorporating bio -design and bio -technological processes in their production. Their aim is to implement eco-technology in everyday life by realising designs for interiors and the built environment. The Studio Klarenbeek & Dros is the first in the world to print living mycelium, the root system of fungi in 3D. Combining the thread -like network of fungi with local raw materials enables them to create products with a negative carbon footprint. Their projects include furniture, glass and textile objects, wall structures and works for public spaces.
