For the annual commission at Haus der Kunst, Maria VMier (b. 1985, Passau, lives in New York) spoke with staff members and turned their stories into a three-part installation. Weathered façade letters become “Bauch der Kunst” at the staff entrance, drawings register the building as a tactile archive, and small cast-aluminium sculptures surface in the crevices of Mittelhalle. An artist book produced for the occasion documents these openings and crevices throughout the building. An invitation to discover Haus der Kunst from a side that usually stays hidden.
