The installation “My Body is Unfinished, a Re-purposed Parade” at Haus der Kunst by Arto Lindsay unfolds as a multi-channel sound installation inspired by the experience of a carnival parade in Bahia in Brazil. Arto has often participated in carnaval, witnessing both society explained and the inexplicable. With multiple speakers positioned around the space, he attempts to replicate the complexity of the experience, where rhyming pop songs mingle with traditional chants, and classes and races celebrate and struggle at street level.
