Morton Feldman is considered one of the most important and influential composers of the 20th century. To mark the centennial of his birth, pianist Sabine Liebner will perform works from Morton Feldman’s oeuvre for solo piano as part of the festival “Morton Feldman 100.” The festival opens on October 23, 2026, at Museum Brandhorst with a performance of Morton Feldman’s Triadic Memories. Inspired by the paintings of Cy Twombly, Feldman developed a new kind of sonic color in this work, in which tones overlap and become “blurred” like colors. The recital will take place in Cy Twombly Roses Gallery, creating a particularly vivid connection between Feldman’s music and visual arts.
